This recipe is very dense and will make 3 large glasses. You can experiment with different greens and fruit, more or less sweet. We now buy bulk herbs and organic where affordable. Wheatgrass and Spirulina are often on 2:1 sale. Below are the usual ingredients with approximate quantities ∼
In a kitchen blender place the following: (allergy and preference considerate of course)
A handful of parsley
A handful mint
A handful of coriander
2 sticks celery chopped (optional)
1 tablespoon Wheatgrass (strong earthen taste so if you are not used to this, use less)
1 tablespoon Chia seeds
1 teaspoon Spirulina
1 mango
1 pear
2-3 large dates (AKA: ‘Nature’s candy’ )
3 handfuls spinach OR
4-5 leaves cavolo nero (also known as black kale) -cut out the spine of each leaf
Optional 1 very ripe Sharon fruit or
Optional 1/2 avocado or
Optional banana
Add cold water to 750ml mark
Blend full speed for 10 seconds (or so)
Serve fresh.
Some people like the drink thick and cold ∞ I add extra water and prefer it room temperature

hi, a big bunch of herbs from the local green grocers/farmers market. Any greens will do-we use flat parsley and I love extra mint and lime in it too…
